The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present "Spotlight on Crafts: Music & Sound," a spring and summer series illuminating the art of sound for motion pictures and the significant influence it has in film. The series will begin on May 20 at various venues in New York City and include onstage conversations and screenings of acclaimed films.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will host a special screening of the Oscar®-nominated animated feature "Bambi" in honor of the film's 75th anniversary on Monday, May 15 at 7:30p.m. at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Hosted by film critic Leonard Maltin, the evening will feature a panel discussion with voice actors Donnie Dunagan (voice of young Bambi), Peter Behn (voice of young Thumper), animator Andreas Deja and production designer Paul Felix.
The Academy Foundation of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today 44 recipients of its 2017 FilmCraft and FilmWatch grants. "This year, the grants will support non–profit organizations in 24 communities across the country, reach underserved high school students, support emerging and mid–career filmmakers of all ages, and will provide unique opportunities for enrichment and engagement with the cinematic community and its artists," said Buffy Shutt, chair of the Academy's grants committee.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced special public programing, from April 26-May 1, in conjunction with the 2017 Film Librarians Conference - Documenting Cinema: Film Librarianship in the 21st Century and the 2017 FIAF Conference. Screenings will include a preview of a the new documentary "Harold and Lillian: A Hollywood Love Story," "Party Girl" in 35mm, a Spanish-language double feature, and "Interstellar" in 70mm with three-time Oscar® nominee Christopher Nolan.
The Academy’s Board of Governors approved Oscars® rules and campaign regulations for the 90th Academy Awards® at their most recent Board meeting on Tuesday, March 28.
In June, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will launch Academy Gold, a new entertainment industry-wide summer internship and mentoring program that will expand opportunities for students and young professionals from underrepresented communities. This initiative will afford top film entertainment, technology, production services and digital media companies an opportunity to recruit and educate a nationwide pool of diverse talent. OSCARS DATES SELECTED FOR 2019, 2020 AND 2021
The Academy and the ABC Television Network today announced key dates for the 90th Oscars®. The Academy Awards® presentation will air live on ABC on Oscar® Sunday, March 4, 2018. Dates for the 91st, 92nd and 93rd Oscars presentations are set for February 24, 2019, February 23, 2020, and February 28, 2021, respectively.

New Expanded International Eligibility Winners Eligible for Oscars
The Academy is now accepting entries for its 2017 Student Academy Awards competition. All Student Academy Award winners become eligible for Oscars consideration. The entry deadline for submissions is Thursday, June 1.
We sincerely apologize to "Moonlight," "La La Land," Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, and Oscar viewers for the error that was made during the award announcement for Best Picture. The presenters had mistakenly been given the wrong category envelope and when discovered, was immediately corrected. We are currently investigating how this could have happened, and deeply regret that this occurred.
