Several of the films have not yet had their required Los Angeles and New York qualifying releases. Submitted features must fulfill the theatrical release requirements and comply with all of the category’s other qualifying rules in order to advance in the voting process.

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures today announced the addition of seven new trustees, including Laura Dern, David Dolby, Sidonie Seydoux Dumas, Mark Johnson, Miky Lee, Katherine Oliver, and David Rubin. The governing body of the Academy Museum, the Board of Trustees oversees the organization’s strategic vision, maintains its financial health, and ensures the institution fulfills its mission to create the best possible motion picture museum for film lovers across the world.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences tonight honored its student winners from colleges and universities around the world at the 46th Student Academy Awards ceremony, held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. The Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal awards were announced and presented by filmmakers Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Melina Matsoukas, Gregory Nava and Rory Kennedy!

93 COUNTRIES IN COMPETITION FOR 2019 INTERNATIONAL FEATURE FILM OSCAR®
Ninety-three countries have submitted films for consideration in the International Feature Film category for the 92nd Academy Awards®. An international feature film is defined as a feature-length motion picture (more than 40 minutes) produced outside the United States with a predominantly non-English dialogue track. Ghana, Nigeria and Uzbekistan are first- time entrants.
Bill Kramer has been named director of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the museum’s Board of Trustees announced today. Kramer, who served as managing director of development and external relations of the Academy Museum from 2012 to 2016, will take the reins as the institution’s new leader on January 1, 2020, guiding its artistic and cultural vision and overseeing the final phase of the museum’s completion.
The Academy has voted 16 students as winners of the 46th Student Academy Awards® competition. This year, the Student Academy Awards competition received a total of 1,615 entries from 255 domestic and 105 international colleges and universities, which were voted upon by a record number of Academy members.
