DONNA GIGLIOTTI TO PRODUCE THE 91ST OSCARS

GLENN WEISS TO CO-PRODUCE AND DIRECT THE OSCARS
Oscar-winning producer Donna Gigliotti will produce the 91st Oscars, and Emmy®-winning director Glenn Weiss will co-produce and direct the show, Academy President John Bailey announced today. The Oscars will air live on the ABC Television Network and broadcast outlets worldwide on Sunday, February 24, 2019.
“Donna and Glenn will infuse new energy and vision into this 91st awards presentation, and we are excited about a broad-based creative relationship with these two artists,” said Bailey.
ACADEMY DETERMINES NEW OSCARS CATEGORY MERITS FURTHER STUDY

KEY DATES FOR THE 92ND OSCARS ANNOUNCED
While remaining committed to celebrating a wide spectrum of movies, the Academy announced today that it will not present the new Oscars category at the upcoming 91st awards. The Academy recognized that implementing any new award nine months into the year creates challenges for films that have already been released. The Board of Governors continues to be actively engaged in discussions, and will examine and seek additional input regarding this category.

90TH OSCARS GOVERNORS BALL CREATIVE TEAM ANNOUNCED

Academy governor Lois Burwell, event producer Cheryl Cecchetto and master chef Wolfgang Puck will team to create this year’s Governors Ball, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ official post-Oscars® celebration, which will immediately follow the 90th Oscars ceremony on Sunday, March 4. The Ball’s 1,500 invited guests include Oscar® winners and nominees, show presenters and other telecast participants.

The additional presenters include Gal Gadot, Mark Hamill, Armie Hammer, Oscar Isaac, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Gina Rodriguez, Eva Marie Saint, Wes Studi, Kelly Marie Tran and Zendaya.
HOLLYWOOD STREET CLOSURES FOR 2018 OSCAR WEEK

To ensure public safety, support security strategies and facilitate the production of this year’s Oscars®, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the City of Los Angeles have finalized street closure plans around the Dolby Theatre™ at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood.
To accommodate the construction of press risers, fan bleachers and pre-show stages along the Oscars red carpet, Hollywood Boulevard will be closed between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive beginning at 10 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, and remain closed until 6 a.m. on Wednesday March 7.
