David Rubin was elected president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Tuesday night (August 6) by the organization’s Board of Governors.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced its newly elected 2019–20 Board of Governors. They will assume their posts July 1.

Newly elected to the Board:
Ellen Kuras, Cinematographers Branch
Ruth Elaine Carter, Costume Designers Branch
Donna Gigliotti, Executives Branch
Howard Berger, Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Branch
Jennifer Yuh Nelson, Short Films and Feature Animation Branch
Eric Roth, Writers Branch

The Academy Board of Governors has confirmed the appointment of three new governors-at-large, DeVon Franklin (Executives Branch), Rodrigo García (Directors Branch) and Janet Yang (Producers Branch). They will each serve a three-year term, beginning July 1. This furthers the Academy’s A2020 initiative, which seeks to support inclusion and increase representation within its membership and the greater film community.

John Bailey was re-elected president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Tuesday night (August 7) by the organization’s Board of Governors.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced that Jennifer Todd has won the runoff election for the open Producers Branch seat on the 2018–19 Board of Governors.  Todd joins incumbents Albert Berger and Mark Johnson in representing the branch and will assume her post as of July 1.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced that Daniel Fellman has been named governor of the Academy’s Executives Branch. Fellman will serve out the remainder of William Mechanic’s term which concludes on June 30, 2019. Mechanic announced his resignation from the Board on April 12.

Fellman returns to the Board after previously serving one term as governor from 2014-2017.
