The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced its newly elected 2018–19 Board of Governors, who assume their posts as of July 1.
Those elected to the Board for the first time are:
Alfred Molina, Actors Branch
Tom Duffield, Designers Branch
Susanne Bier, Directors Branch
Bonnie Arnold, Short Films and Feature Animation Branch
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures today announced that Brendan Connell, Jr. has been named its new Chief Operating Officer.
Beginning June 20, Connell’s duties will include oversight and management of operations, administration, and finance, among other areas. He will also serve as a core member of the Museum’s leadership team overseeing the construction of the new facility and is the key strategist in establishing operating procedures and processes for the museum.

The Academy’s Board of Governors has approved Oscars® rules and campaign regulations for the 91st Academy Awards®.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced that Daniel Fellman has been named governor of the Academy’s Executives Branch. Fellman will serve out the remainder of William Mechanic’s term which concludes on June 30, 2019. Mechanic announced his resignation from the Board on April 12.
Fellman returns to the Board after previously serving one term as governor from 2014-2017.
