AFA Collection - Nina Menkes Collection

In 1990, provocative independent filmmaker Nina Menkes was one of the first women to present a feature film at the Sundance Film Festival. The Nina Menkes Collection first began arriving at the Academy Film Archive in 2000 from Menkes herself, and has steadily grown over the years. Representing such titles as “Queen of Diamonds” (1991), “The Bloody Child” (1996), “The Great Sadness of Zohara” (1983), and “Magdalena Viraga” (1986), this collection boasts approximately 300 film and video items.
