SPEECH BY: Alexandre Desplat
FILM: The Grand Budapest Hotel

Ah, well. Merci. Merci beaucoup. Wes, you’re a genius. This is good. You offer me a great view from The Grand Budapest. Thank you. It’s been a beautiful decade for me in Hollywood. I’ve worked with great directors and producers and I’m very grateful. I need to thank Laura Engel, [unintelligible], my Greek mother. Solre, I met you long ago for my first session and you played the violin and you made everything happen for me. So, [holds up the Oscar to her] this is for you. Thank you.
