Chicago-born filmmaker Andrew Davis is known for taut, well-paced action movies such as “The Package” (1989) with Gene Hackman, “Under Siege” (1992) with Steven Seagal, and his most well-known film, “The Fugitive” (1993), starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, who received an Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actor in his role as U.S. Marshal Samuel Gerard. Since 2015, the Archive has housed over 15 items in the Andrew Davis collection, which includes 35mm prints of several of the director’s films, including his first, the little-seen “Stony Island” (1978).
