About
Completed in 2003, the Linwood Dunn Theater is a state-of-the-art screening facility with 286 seats, named in honor of visual effects pioneer Linwood Dunn. The screening room is designed to provide reference-quality presentation for 4K digital cinema, 70mm and 35mm motion picture formats. In addition, the theater serves as a venue for lectures, panel discussions, and Academy forums on a variety of subjects. The Linwood Dunn Theater is located at the Academy Film Archive (also known as the Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study) in Hollywood.

VENUE / BOOKING POLICIES
- All events taking place at the Academy must be conducted in a manner that protects the integrity of the organization and its mission, and that adheres to its code of conduct.
- Active corporate membership is required prior to booking (approved nonprofit organizations and government agencies exempt).
- Ticket sales and other types of fundraising in connection with private events are not permitted.
- Personal celebrations, religious ceremonies, and political events are not permitted.
- Invitations and other promotional materials must be shared with the Academy prior to distribution to ensure accuracy of event date/time and venue listing; use of Academy marks is not permitted.
- Event sponsors and partners must be disclosed prior to booking.
- Food and beverages are not allowed inside the theater (except for bottled water with resealable lids and popcorn); additional cleaning and waste fees apply.

Theater Rental Fee:
Weeknight Rates: $7,500 (6 hours), $10,000 (8 hours)
Weekend Rates: $9,375 (6 hours), $12,500 (8 hours)
• 6-8 hours of site access included for setup, rehearsal/content check, screening/event, and strike
•Audio, lighting, projection, theater management and theater staff included
• $5,000 additional AV/engineering minimum for enhanced programs (such as musical performance production or multimedia/multisession program)
Receptions / Installations:
• Dunn & Pickford Lobbies: $4,000 (weeknight) | $5,000 (weekend)
• Vine Street Terrace Extension (Exterior): $2,000 (weeknight) | $2,500 (weekend)
• Lounge / Green Room: $750 (weeknight) | $1,000 (weekend)
• Additional Load In/Out Time: $500/hour (weeknight) | $625 (weekend)
Vine Street Terrace Extension Requirements
• Final layout must be approved by the Academy prior to submission to the City of Los Angeles
• Temporary walls or hedges are required for Terrace enclosure
• Exit signage must be visible and properly lit
• Lighting and power (including generator and power distribution) must be provided by client/host
