The Academy celebrates the nominated films and filmmakers in this evening spotlighting the Animated Short Film and Live Action Short Film categories. This year’s selection of animated films demonstrates an extraordinary range of filmmaking techniques, from linocut graphics to cutting-edge CG. Once again, the live action films come from all over the world and feature a range of diverse characters, each with their own story to tell. Hosted by Tim Miller, Academy Award nominee for the animated short Gopher Broke (2004) and member of the Short Films and Feature Animation Branch, the event will include a screening of all 10 nominated shorts in their entirety, as well as discussions with all of the nominated filmmakers (schedules permitting).
