This event is SOLD OUT. There will be a STAND-BY LINE at the west doors (closest to Almont Dr.) with Stand-by numbers given out starting at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22. The number of Stand-by tickets available (if any) will be determined shortly before the start of the program.

 

Hosts: Kate Amend and Rory Kennedy, Academy governors, Documentary Branch

For the eighth consecutive year, the Academy is proud to present an evening dedicated to showcasing the nominated films and filmmakers in the Documentary Feature and Documentary Short Subject categories. Hosted by Academy Documentary Branch governors Kate Amend (editor of The Long Way Home, Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport and The Case against 8) and Rory Kennedy (director-producer of Ethel and Last Days in Vietnam), the evening will include a presentation of clips from this year’s nominated films. Nominees from all 10 documentaries (schedules permitting) will participate in panel discussions, reflecting on their nominated films as well as their personal journeys as documentarians.
