The Academy was proud to host this special evening celebrating the nominated films and filmmakers in the Documentary Feature and Documentary Short Subject categories. Hosted by Academy governors Kate Amend (editor of The Long Way Home, Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport and The Case against 8) and Joan Churchill, the evening included a screening of clips from the nominated films. Nominees from all 10 films (schedules permitting) also took part in panel discussions talking about their own films and sharing insights on the craft of documentary filmmaking.
