Independent producer Saul Zaentz has created a string of award-winning films since the early 1970s. Almost all of Zaentz’s films have been adapted from literary sources, including Academy Award-winning films “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” (1975) and “Amadeus” (1984) as well as Academy Award nominated “The Unbearable Lightness of Being” (1988). The majority of the Zaentz Collection arrived at the Academy Film Archive in 1994, with subsequent items arriving up until 2009. It is comprised of roughly 40 items, including original picture and track negatives as well as prints.
