Academy Museum of Motion Pictures

Coming 2019

The Academy Museum will be the world’s premier institution dedicated to the art and science of movies. Located on Wilshire and Fairfax in Los Angeles, the Museum will be simultaneously immersive, experimental, educational, and entertaining. More than a museum, this dynamic film center will offer unparalleled experiences and insights into movies and moviemaking.

Saban Building

The Saban Building will feature six stories of dynamic spaces, including more than 50,000 square feet of exhibition galleries, a state-of-the-art education studio, the 288-seat Ted Mann Theater, a restaurant and café, a store, and dynamic public and special event spaces.

The Sphere

A soaring spherical addition, including the 1,000-seat state-of-the-art David Geffen Theater, will host a range of performances, screenings, premieres, and events with the world’s leading filmmakers. Located atop the glass-covered sphere, The Dolby Family Terrace offers sweeping views of the Hollywood Hills.

The Architect

Pritzker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano’s design for the Museum has been inspired by the mission of the Museum itself—to turn the dream factory inside out and give visitors an unprecedented opportunity to peer behind the screen and into the creative, collaborative world of moviemaking.
