The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today the newest acquisitions to its expansive collection—the largest film-related collection in the world—housed at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Margaret Herrick Library, and Academy Film Archive, leaders in the fields of conservation, preservation, and exhibition of film-related objects and materials.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announces the seventh year of Academy Gold Rising, a career development program for students and young professionals from underrepresented communities. Gold Rising works with various studios and industry organizations to provide educational programs, career preparation sessions, and networking and mentorship opportunities with Academy members and industry professionals. Gold Rising helps college seniors, recent graduates and young professionals acquire the knowledge, skills and connections to achieve success as they navigate in front of and behind-the-camera careers in film. This year, 90 students and 21 film and entertainment companies will participate in the program.

The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced the creation of the Production and Technology Branch, comprising approximately 400 individuals previously classified as Members-at-Large. The new branch represents members working in key technical and production positions in all phases of filmmaking, from pre- to post-production.

Model Ashley Graham, actor Vanessa Hudgens and multi-hyphenate Lilly Singh will host “Countdown to the Oscars®,” the official lead-in to the 95th Oscars on Sunday, March 12, airing at 6:30 p.m. EDT/3:30 p.m. PDT on ABC. This marks Hudgens second consecutive year hosting the official pre-show. Content creator Reece Feldman will be a backstage correspondent and Rocsi Diaz will be the correspondent for the Academy’s member viewing party in NYC.
