2009 Student Academy Awards Silver Medal winner Kwibum Chung, of the School of Visual Arts in New York, introduces his alternative film, “Matter in a Quiescent State, Prepares Itself to Be Transformed,” the story of one’s purpose in life and how it is shaped by many factors, including teachers, mass media, culture and socioeconomic systems like capitalism.
