Blue Ribbon Task Force on Sustainable Digital Preservation and Access

In the Information Age, the exponential growth of digital information each day compounds a series of daunting challenges for the future. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is a member of the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Sustainable Digital Preservation and Access, which is actively analyzing previous and current models for sustainable digital preservation, evaluating incentives, and identifying current best practices among existing collections, repositories and analogous enterprises. The Task Force will ultimately present a set of economically viable recommendations for developing reliable digital preservation strategies. It will also provide a research agenda to organize and motivate future work specifically addressing the economic sustainability of digital information.
