The Close Up in Black catalog, a 150-page soft-cover, 9"x10" horizontal publication, contains full-page color reproductions of 125 historically and artistically significant black-cast film posters (1921-2001) from the Edward Mapp Collection at the Academy’s Margaret Herrick Library. The book includes a foreword by library director Linda Harris Mehr, an introduction by professor/collector Edward Mapp, an essay by historian Thomas Cripps, who served as a consultant to this exhibition and a complete index.
