Michael Seligman Named
Associate Producer
for 80th Academy Awards®

Beverly Hills, CA –– Michael B. Seligman has been named associate producer of the 80th Academy Awards® telecast, marking his 31st year of association with the Oscar® show, producer Gil Cates announced today.

With over 300 major television events to his credit, Seligman specializes in producing live broadcasts throughout the world. Most recently, he served as executive producer of the “ALMA Awards” and producer for “The 58th Annual Primetime Emmy® Awards.” Seligman co-executive produced “Mississippi Rising,” which raised over $20 million for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Earlier this year, Seligman received his fifth Emmy nomination for his work on the 79th Academy Awards telecast. Four of his Emmy nominations have been for his work on Oscar telecasts. His other producing credits include “The Kennedy Center Honors”; “America’s Millennium,” a three-hour live New Year’s Eve celebration; “The Harry Connick Jr. Christmas Special”; the NBC special “Funny Women of Television”; and “Return to the Titanic,” television’s second-highest-rated syndicated special in history.

The 80th Academy Awards nominations will be announced on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2007 will be presented on Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. PT. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.
