Seligman Named
Supervising Producer of
79th Oscar® Telecast

Beverly Hills, CA — Michael B. Seligman has been named supervising producer of the 79th Academy Awards® telecast, his 30th year of association with the Oscar show, producer Laura Ziskin announced today.

With over 300 major television events to his credit, Seligman specializes in producing live broadcasts throughout the world. Most recently, he served as producer of the “58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards” and co-executive producer of “Mississippi Rising,” which raised over $20 million for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Seligman has been nominated four times for Emmy Awards, three of which were for his work on the Academy Awards. His other producing credits include “The Kennedy Center Honors”; “America’s Millennium,” a three-hour live New Year’s Eve celebration; “The Harry Connick Jr. Christmas Show”; the NBC special “Funny Women of Television”; and “Return to the Titanic,” television’s second-highest-rated syndicated special in history.

Nominations for the 79th Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at 5:30 a.m. PST in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2006 will be presented on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live by the ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST, beginning with a half-hour arrivals segment, “The Road to the Oscars.”
