September 28, 2005 Marvin Levy to Talk Marketing as Academy Visiting ArtistBeverly Hills, CA — Marvin Levy, a marketing executive with DreamWorks SKG, will travel to Tokyo on Thursday, September 29, to participate in the "That's Entertainment: Amusement Marketing in the 21st Century" forum as part of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Visiting Artists Program. Levy, a member of the Academy's Board of Governors, will be a featured speaker along with leading professionals from the film, music, animation and digital industries. Beginning his career in entertainment as a writer and assistant producer of radio and television, Levy has developed advertising, marketing and publicity campaigns for such Academy Award®-winning films as "Schindler's List," "Saving Private Ryan," "American Beauty," "Gladiator" and "Shrek." His career includes tenures at MGM, Cinerama Releasing Corp., Columbia Pictures and Amblin Entertainment. The Academy's Visiting Artists Program was established in 1970 to provide a link between the academic study of film and filmmaking and the industry's leading professionals.
