Robert Z. Shapiro Named Senior Exec Consultant for Oscar® Telecast

Beverly Hills , CA - Robert Z. Shapiro has been named senior executive consultant to 77th Academy Awards telecast producer Gil Cates. It is Shapiro's eleventh Academy Awards assignment.

"Robert Shapiro combines knowledge of cutting edge technology with old fashioned showbiz know-how. He is a real treat to work with," said Cates.

As a media consultant to NASA, Shapiro most recently spearheaded the space agency's outreach efforts to the Hollywood creative community.

In addition, Shapiro has served as a production executive on movies and mini-series for the ABC, NBC and CBS television networks. He has also created and produced programming for various interactive television ventures.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2004 will be presented on Sunday, February 27, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland®. The Oscars® will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST, beginning with a half-hour arrival segment.
