December 17, 2004 Cheryl Cecchetto to Produce Oscar® Governors Ball
Beverly Hills, CA - Special events producer Cheryl Cecchetto has been chosen to produce the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Governors Ball for the 16th consecutive year. The gala event for Oscar winners and nominees will immediately follow the 77th Academy Awards® ceremony on Sunday, February 27, 2005. "This year's Governors Ball will be like no other," said Cecchetto. "The objective is to transform the existing ballroom into a setting filled with nuance and grandeur." Cecchetto and her team are responsible to Governors Ball Co-Chairs Sid Ganis and Cheryl Boone Isaacs for every detail pertaining to the event, including décor, lighting, sound, rentals, entertainment, food and personnel. Sequoia Productions, Cecchetto's company, recently produced the wrap party for the television show "Friends," a surprise birthday bash for celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, the 56th Annual Emmy Award Governors Ball and Entertainment Weekly's 2nd Annual Emmy Celebration. Sequoia's list of upcoming events includes Australia Week 2005 for the Australian Consul General and the Tournament of Roses BCS National Championship Gala. The Governors Ball will be held in the Governors Ballroom on the top level of the Hollywood & Highland® complex following the 77th Academy Awards®. Academy Awards® for outstanding film achievements of 2004 will be presented on Sunday, February 27, 2005, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland® and televised live by the ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST, beginning with a half-hour arrival segment.
