December 6, 2004 Seligman Named Associate Producer of 77th Oscar® Telecast
Beverly Hills , CA - Michael B. Seligman has been named associate producer of the 77th Academy Awards show, his 28th year of association with Oscar telecasts, producer Gil Cates has announced. "Michael knows every bolt and nut of the inner workings of this show," Cates said, "and that makes him a right arm holding a very heavy-duty wrench. He's my go-to man, and I am very happy that he'll be back with me for this very special show." With over 300 major television events to his credit, Seligman specializes in producing live broadcasts throughout the world. Most recently, he served as producer of the "56th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards," associate producer of "An American Celebration at Ford's Theatre" and supervising producer for "CBS at 75," the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the CBS Network. Seligman has been nominated four times for Emmy Awards, three of which were for his work on the Academy Awards, including a nomination for the 76th Academy Awards. His other producing credits include "The Kennedy Center Honors;" "America's Millenium," a three-hour live New Year's Eve celebration; "The Harry Connick Jr. Christmas Show;" the NBC special "Funny Women of Television;" and "Return of the Titanic," television's second highest-rated syndicated special in history. Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2004 will be presented on Sunday, February 27, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and televised live by the ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST , beginning with a half-hour arrival segment.
