Academy/UCLA Documentary Series Continues

Beverly Hills, CA — “Step into Liquid” and “Comedian” will be screened for the November 3 installment of the 23rd Annual Contemporary Documentary Series, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Academy Foundation and the UCLA Film and Television Archive. The screening will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Academy’s Linwood Dunn Theater at the Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study in Hollywood. Admission is free and open to the public.

In “Step into Liquid,” stunning photography puts viewers right in the water with some of today’s best surfers. Directed by Dana Brown and produced by John-Paul Berghly, the film examines how surfing can insert itself into a person’s life and hook his or her soul.

“Comedian” follows Jerry Seinfeld as he creates new material from scratch, having retired his old act. Directed by Christian Charles and produced by Seinfeld and Gary Streiner, the film reveals how the comedian struggles with his routine, confronts self-doubt and accepts help from his friends and colleagues.

The Linwood Dunn Theater is located at 1313 N. Vine Street, in Hollywood. Parking is available behind the building through the entrance on Homewood Avenue, one block north of Fountain. For more information call 310-247-3600 or 310-206-FILM.
