"Anthony Adverse"

Beverly Hills, CA — "Anthony Adverse," the 1936 Best Picture nominee starring Frederic March and Olivia de Havilland, will screen at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 26, in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater as the organization's "Great To Be Nominated" series continues.

"Sinbad the Sailor," featuring Popeye the Sailor Man, received a Cartoon Short Subject nomination in 1936 and will be shown prior to the feature presentation as will the Our Gang comedy "Bored of Education," the Oscar®-winning One-reel Short Subject of the same year. The trailer for "A Star Is Born," the next entry in the screening series, also will be shown during the program. The Best Song nominee of 1936, Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin" from the MGM film "Born to Dance," will serve as the evening's curtain music.

The program's early-bird bonus will be "La Fiesta de Santa Barbara," a Color Short Subject nominee of 1936.

Tickets for each screening in the "Great To Be Nominated" series may be purchased on an individual basis at a cost of $5 each for the general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a valid I.D.
