December 22, 2003 Wolfgang Puck Marks 10th Year as Oscar® Governors Ball Chef
Beverly Hills, CA - Master chef Wolfgang Puck will celebrate his 10th anniversary as executive chef of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Governors Ball, the official party of the 76th Academy Awards®. Puck's company, Wolfgang Puck Catering and Events, will prepare and serve his culinary creations at the Ball, where Oscar nominees, winners, presenters and performers celebrate after the Oscar telecast. "Wolfgang is simply the greatest," said Governors Ball Co-Chair Sid Ganis. "He is a perfect match for this great Oscar Night!" Puck and his team of talented chefs will create the multi-course, sit-down meal for the Academy's 1,650 guests. "The Oscars are one of the biggest events in the world," said Puck. "I'm very excited to create a special menu for my 10th anniversary cooking for the Academy Awards." In addition to Puck's personal involvement, culinary artists from Wolfgang Puck Catering and Events will be responsible for the cooking, presentation and service of the food. Puck's Oscar Night team will include top chefs from many of his restaurants, who will work in the state-of-the-art kitchen in the Governors Ballroom at the Hollywood & Highland® complex. Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2003 will be presented on Sunday, February 29, 2004, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and televised live by the ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST, beginning with a half-hour arrival segment.
