September 22, 2003 Academy's Diamond Anniversary Screening Series to Feature "Unforgiven"
Beverly Hills, CA - With guns blazing, "Unforgiven," the 65th film to win the Oscar® for Best Picture, will screen on Monday, September 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater as the next entry in the 75th anniversary screening series, "Facets of the Diamond: 75 Years of Best Picture Winners." Preceding the screening will be footage from the 65th Academy Awards® telecast, featuring the presentation of two Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Awards - one to Elizabeth Taylor in what marks her last Oscar show appearance to date and a posthumous award to Audrey Hepburn. The Oscar-winning Animated Short Film of 1992, "Mona Lisa Descending a Staircase," also will be featured during the program as will the original trailer for the next film in the series, "Schindler's List." The evening's curtain music will be the Best Song of 1992, "A Whole New World" from the film "Aladdin." Tickets may be purchased, pending availability, at a cost of $5 each for the general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a valid I.D.
