Beverly Hills, CA - Michael B. Seligman has been named associate producer of the 75th Anniversary Academy Awards show, his 26th year of association with the Oscar® telecast, producer Gilbert Cates has announced.
"Michael knows every bolt and nut of the inner workings of this show," Cates said, "and that makes him a right arm holding a very heavy-duty wrench. He's my go-to man, and I am very happy that he'll be back with me for this very special show."
With over 300 major television events to his credit, Seligman specializes in producing live broadcasts throughout the world. Most recently, he served as supervising producer for "The Primetime Emmy Awards," and as co-producer of "Rockin' for the USA: A National Salute to the U.S. Military." In addition, Seligman served as associate producer for both "The Kennedy Center Honors" and "An American Celebration at Ford's Theatre."
Seligman's other producing credits include "America's Millennium," a three-hour live New Year's Eve celebration; "The Harry Connick Jr. Christmas Show;" the NBC special "Funny Women of Television" and "Return to the Titanic," television's second highest-rated syndicated special in history.
Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2002 will be presented
on March 23, 2003, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland®
. Sunday at the Oscars® will be televised
live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. (PST), with a half-hour
arrivals segment preceding the presentation ceremony.
