Beverly Hills, CA - The deadline for submission of Official Screen
Credits forms to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is
Monday, December 2.
In order for a feature to be considered for the 75th Academy Awards®,
the distributor or producer must file an Official Screen Credits form
with the Academy on or before the December 2 deadline. Forms and information
regarding eligibility can be obtained by contacting credits coordinator
Torene Svitil at the Academy. Svitil can be reached by phone at 310-247-3000,
ext. 113 or via e-mail tsvitil@oscars.org.
If the completed form isn't received by 5 p.m. December 2, the feature's
title can't be included in the Reminder List of Eligible Releases -
the list of films eligible for Academy Award®
nominations. Votes will not be counted for films not included in the
Reminder List.
Though the credits submission deadline is December 2, feature films
have until midnight, December 31, to open in Los Angeles County and
begin a minimum run of seven consecutive days to be eligible for 2002
Academy Awards consideration.
Entries in the Foreign Language, Animated Feature, Documentary and
Short Films categories are subject to special rules and must meet other
qualifying criteria. The 75th Academy Award nominations will be announced
at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Tuesday, February 11, 2003.
Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2002 will be presented
on Sunday, March 23, 2003, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland®
and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m.
PST. A half-hour arrival segment will precede the presentation ceremony
at 5 p.m.
