October 28, 2002 Entry Deadline is November 1 in Four Oscar® CategoriesBeverly Hills, CA - Friday, November 1, is the deadline for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to receive entry forms in four categories for the 75th Academy Awards® - Animated Feature, Live-Action and Animated Short Film and Foreign Language Film. To be considered in this year's Oscar competition, makers of eligible animated feature films and live-action and animated short films as well as countries submitting films for Foreign Language Film Award consideration must submit their entry forms and supporting materials to the Academy by Friday, November 1. In the Animated Feature Film category, an entry form including the name of the intended award recipient and the signatures of all credited producers and directors is required. The supporting documentation that must accompany each entry includes a synopsis of the film, cast and credits list and scene stills. The deadline for submitting film prints is Wednesday, December 18. Entries in the Short Films categories must submit the entry form, synopsis, credits list and stills as well as film prints and proof of qualifying exhibition by Friday, November 1. In the Foreign Language Film category, additional required documentation including a synopsis of the film in English, a biography of the director and a copy of public notification of exhibition, such as an advertisement, is due by November 1. Film prints must be received by the Academy no later than Friday, November 15. Screenings of submitted films in the Live-Action and Animated Short Film and Foreign Language Film categories will begin in December. Films submitted in the Animated Feature category will begin screening in January. The 75th Academy Award® nominations will be announced at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Tuesday, February 11, 2003. Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2002 will be presented on Sunday, March 23, 2003, from the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland® and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST.
