Academy's Diamond Anniversary Screening Series to Feature
"From Here to Eternity"

Beverly Hills, CA - he sandy beaches of Hawaii will wash up on the big
screen when "From Here to Eternity," the 26th film to win the
Oscar® for Best Picture, is shown
on Monday, October 28, at 7: 30 p.m. in the Academy of Motion Picture
Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
For the second year in a row, the 1953 Academy Award®
were telecast from Los Angeles with a companion show originating in New
York. Footage from the ceremony will precede the screening as will newsreel
footage featuring celebrities in New York arriving for the East Coast
presentation.
The Oscar-winning Cartoon Short Subject of 1953, "Toot, Whistle,
Plunk and Boom," also will be included in the program. The trailer
for the next film in the 75th anniversary screening series, "On the
Waterfront," also will be shown. "Secret Love," the Best
Song of 1953 from the film "Calamity Jane," will serve as the
evening's curtain music.
Tickets may be purchased, pending availability, at a cost of $5 each
for the general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a
valid I.D. Tickets may be purchased in person at the Academy during regular
business hours or by mail. The Academy is located at 8949 Wilshire Boulevard
