Academy's Diamond Anniversary Screening Series to Feature "All About Eve"

Beverly Hills, CA - "All about Eve," one of the two most-nominated films in Academy Award® history, will be shown on Monday, October 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater as the next film in the 75th anniversary screening series, "Facets of the Diamond: 75 Years of Best Picture Winners."

In 1950 "All about Eve" received a record 14 Oscar® nominations and held that record for 47 years, until tied by "Titanic" in 1997. The film ultimately won six Oscars®, for Supporting Actor, Costume Design, Directing, Sound Recording, Writing and Best Picture.

Newsreel footage of the 1950 Los Angeles premiere of "All about Eve," featuring the film's stars arriving at Grauman's Chinese Theater, will precede the screening. Footage from the 23rd Academy Awards® ceremony will be shown during the evening's program as will the Oscar-winning Cartoon Short Subject of 1950, "Gerald McBoing-Boing." The original trailer for the next film in the series, "An American in Paris," also will be featured.  "Mona Lisa," the Best Song of 1950 from the film "Captain Carey, U.S.A.," will serve as the evening's curtain music.

Tickets may be purchased, pending availability, at a cost of $5 each for the general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a valid I.D. Tickets may be purchased in person at the Academy during regular business hours or by mail. The Academy is located at 8949 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
