September 23, 2002 Academy's Diamond Anniversary Screening Series to Feature "All the King's Men"
Beverly Hills, CA - "All the King's Men" will screen on Monday, September 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater. It's the next film in the Academy's 75th anniversary series, "Facets of the Diamond: 75 Years of Best Picture Winners." Newsreel footage from the 22nd Academy Awards(R) will precede the screening as will the original trailer for the next film in the series, "All about Eve." "For Scent-Imental Reasons," which won the Oscar(R) for Cartoon Short Subject in 1949, also will be shown. The evening's curtain music will be the Best Song of 1949, "Baby, It's Cold Outside" as performed by Esther Williams and Ricardo Montalban from the film "Neptune's Daughter." The print of "All the King's Men" that will be screened is from the Academy Film Archive collection and is the result of a collaborative restoration of the film in 2000 by the Academy and Sony Entertainment. Tickets may be purchased, pending availability, at a cost of $5 each
for the general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a
valid I.D. Tickets may be purchased in person at the Academy during regular
