Academy's Diamond Anniversary Screening Series to Feature "You Can't Take it With You"

Beverly Hills, CA - The screen tests of Paulette Goddard and Susan Hayward auditioning for the role of Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone with the Wind" will precede "You Can't Take It with You" on Monday, July 15, as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 75th Anniversary screening series, "Facets of the Diamond: 75 Years of Best Picture Winners," continues.

The screening of the 11th film to win an Academy Award® for Best Picture will begin with the Oscar®-winning Best Song of 1938, "Thanks for the Memory," as performed by Bob Hope and Shirley Ross in the film "The Big Broadcast of 1938." "Ferdinand the Bull," which won the Oscar for Cartoon Short Subject, will be shown along with the original 1938 announcement trailer for the next film in the screening series, "Gone with the Wind." "Hollywood Goes to Town," a newsreel featuring the premiere of "Marie Antoinette" at the Carthay Circle Theater, will complete the evening's program.

Tickets may be purchased, pending availability, at a cost of $5 each for the general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a valid I.D. Tickets may be purchased in person at the Academy during regular business hours or by mail. The Academy is located at 8949 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
