Academy's Diamond Anniversary Screening Series to Feature "The Great Ziegfeld"

Beverly Hills, CA - he Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 75th Anniversary screening series, "Facets of the Diamond: 75 Years of Best Picture Winners," continues Monday night with "The Great Ziegfeld." The ninth film to win the Oscar® for Best Picture will screen on July 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

The Best Song of 1936, "The Way You Look Tonight" from the film "Swing Time," will be featured during the evening's program. "Country Cousin," which won the Oscar for cartoon short subject, will be presented in addition to the trailer for "The Life of Emile Zola," the next film in the screening series. Newsreel footage of "The Great Ziegfeld's" 1936 premiere at the Astor Theater in New York City also will be shown.

Tickets may be purchased, pending availability, at a cost of $5 each for the general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a valid I.D. Tickets may be purchased in person at the Academy during regular business hours or by mail. The Academy is located at 8949 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
