Academy's Diamond Anniversary Screening Series to Feature "Mutiny On The Bounty"

Beverly Hills, CA - "Mutiny on the Bounty," the eighth film to win the Oscar® for Best Picture, will screen on Monday, June 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater as the Academy's 75th Anniversary screening series, "Facets of the Diamond: 75 Years of Best Picture Winners," continues.

The evening's program also will include the 1935 Oscar-winning short subjects, "Three Orphan Kittens," which won for cartoon short subject, and Robert Benchley's "How to Sleep," the live action comedy short subject winner. A newsreel also will be shown featuring D.W. Griffith presenting Academy Awards® for Best Actress to Bette Davis, for her role in "Dangerous," and Best Actor to Victor McLaglen, for his part in "The Informer." In addition, a trailer for "The Great Ziegfeld" will offer a preview of the next film in the screening series.

A four-color reproduction of the original poster of the film will be featured on the cover of the evening's program.

Although commemorative passes for the entire series are no longer available, tickets for each film may still be purchased on an individual basis, pending availability, at a cost of $5 for the general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a valid I.D. Tickets may be purchased in person at the Academy during regular business hours or by mail. The Academy is located at 8949 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
