March 19, 2001 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Jane LaBonte - (310) 247-3090 Björk to Perform on Oscar® TelecastBeverly Hills, CA - Singer/songwriter Björk is scheduled to perform on this year's Academy Awards® Telecast, producer Gil Cates announced today. Björk will perform the nominated song "I've Seen It All" from "Dancer in the Dark." Björk made her acting debut in the film opposite Catherine Deneuve. In addition to her acting and singing duties, she composed the film's score. Björk first came to the attention of music fans as a member of The Sugercubes with the release of the group's first single, "Birthday." Since then she has released three solo albums, "Debut," "Post" and the self-produced "Homogenic." Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2000 will be presented on March 25, 2001, at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium. Sunday at the Oscars® will be televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. (PST), with a half-hour arrivals segment preceding the presentation ceremony.
