Beverly Hills, CA - The deadline for submission of Official Screen Credits forms to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is Friday, December 1, Academy President Robert Rehme has reminded filmmakers.

In order for a feature to be considered for the 73rd Annual Academy Awards^®, the distributor or producer must file an Official Screen Credits form with the Academy on or before the December 1 deadline. Forms, and information regarding eligibility, can be obtained by contacting credits coordinator Torene Svitil at the Academy. If the completed form isn't received by 5 p.m. December 1, Rehme said, the feature's title can't be included in the Reminder List of Eligible Releases - the list of films eligible for Academy Awards nominations. Votes will not be counted for films not included on the Reminder List, he added.

Though the credits submission deadline is this Friday, feature films have until midnight, December 31, to open in Los Angeles County and begin a minimum run of seven consecutive days to be eligible for 2000 Academy Awards consideration.

Entries in the foreign language film, documentary and short film categories are subject to special rules and must meet other qualifying criteria.

Oscar nominations will be announced at the Academy on Tuesday, February 13, 2000. Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2000 will be presented on Sunday, March 25, 2001, at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium. Sunday at the Oscars^® will be televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. (PST), with a half-hour pre-show segment that precedes the presentation ceremony.
