Beverly Hills, CA - Marvin Levy, a marketing executive at DreamWorks SKG, will serve his eighth term as chair of the Academy Awards^® Public Relations Coordinating Committee, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Robert Rehme announced today.

Levy, a governor of the Academy representing the public relations branch, has headed the committee since the 66th Awards Presentation in 1994.

The PRCC coordinates the publicity and promotion efforts of the Academy, ABC, the production team and the variety of vendors and providers of services to the telecast. The committee will meet regularly between now and the telecast date with staff members from the Academy, ABC and the production office to explore ways to maximize promotions and publicity for the telecast, from media opportunities and the development of the theatrical trailer to on-air promos and special events.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2000 will be presented on March 25, 2001, at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium. Sunday at the Oscars^® will be televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. (PST), with a half-hour arrivals segment preceding the presentation ceremony.
