Academy Award®-Nominated Short Films on the Big Screen at AcademyBeverly Hills, CA - The ten films nominated in the Live Action and Animated Short Film categories for the 72nd Academy Awards® will be screened on April 14, beginning at 7:30 p.m., in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater. "Shorts!" is presented as part of the "Academy Standards" series and is open to the public. Part one of the evening will feature the animated film nominees: "Humdrum," "My Grandmother Ironed the King's Shirts," "The Old Man and the Sea" (which won the Academy Award on March 26), "3 Misses" and "When the Day Breaks." After a brief intermission, the nominated live action films will be screened: "Bror, Min Bror" (Teis and Nico), "Killing Joe," "Kleingeld' (Small Change), "Major and Minor Miracles" and "My Mother Dreams the Satan's Disciples in New York," which won in this category. Tickets for "Shorts!" are $5 for the general public, $3 for Academy members. They may be purchased in advance by mail, in person at the Academy during regular business hours, or on the night of the screening, if still available, when the doors open at 6:30 p.m. The Academy is located at 8949 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
