Meredith Vieira to Co-Host Oscar® Arrivals Show

Beverly Hills, CA - Meredith Vieira, co-host of ABC's "The View," has been named as one of the arrivals show hosts by Oscar telecast producers Richard D. and Lili Fini Zanuck. This is Vieira's first association with the Oscar telecast.

The arrivals show will be executive produced by the Zanucks and produced by director/producer Joel Gallen. It will air at 5:00 p.m. PST and will segue directly into the 72nd Academy Awards presentation at 5:30 p.m. The show will include coverage of the red-carpet arrivals as well as the lobby of the Shrine Auditorium.

Vieira is co-host of ABC Daytime's morning program, "The View," which features a team of five women of different ages, experiences and backgrounds discussing relevant, everyday issues and sharing their daily, no-holds-barred opinions through lively, colorful conversations. A winner of six Emmy Awards, Vieira joined the ABC Network in 1993 as chief correspondent for ABC News' "Turning Point." She also spent more than a decade at CBS News as a correspondent for broadcasts ranging from "60 Minutes" and "West 57th"and as co-anchor for "CBS Morning News."

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 1999 will be presented on March 26, 2000, at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium.
