Grizzly Man
Directed by Werner Herzog.
Produced by Erik Nelson.
For 13 summers, self-styled grizzly bear expert and wildlife preservationist Timothy Treadwell lived among bears in Alaska and filmed his adventures during his final five seasons. But in 2003, his bodily remains, along with his girlfriend’s, were found after both of them were mauled and devoured by a grizzly. Using Treadwell’s own startling footage, Herzog paints a portrait of a complex figure while exploring the sometimes uneasy relationship between man and nature.
