Almost a forgotten figure today, Norman Corwin was considered the “poet laureate of radio drama” in America during WWII. With testimonies from Walter Cronkite, Robert Altman, Norman Lear and Studs Terkel and excerpts from Corwin’s radio shows, we see how a single 1941 radio broadcast could have captured 60 million listeners (more than half the nation) and how his stirring war-themed radio plays helped sell America on the justness of defeating the Nazis. 16mm. 40 mins.
