Short animated films can be beautiful and moving, but frequently they also are hilarious. The expression of humor, from slapstick to an exquisitely nuanced joke, has been a major theme in the films which have won the Academy Award in this category. Come and enjoy an evening of laughs with such classic characters as Tweetie-Pie, Pepe Le Pew, Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny and the Pink Panther as they first appeared on the big screen (before the birth of the Saturday morning cartoon). These famous characters will be joined by other innovative cartoon creatures both old and new from 70 years of animated art. Then enjoy one of your last chances to experience the Academy exhibition “Toon In: Animated Movie Posters from the Cudequest Family Collection.” This evening is perfect for animated film fans and families alike.
