Thirty years have passed since the first musical anthology in the
That's Entertainment series was compiled under producer/director
Jack Haley Jr. for the 50th anniversary of MGM. The film launched
a rebirth of the public’s appreciation for, and love of, the
film musical, showcasing 125 stars from nearly 100 movies. Many of
those stars appear on camera to guide the viewer through the days
when Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby, Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, Debbie Reyolds,
Elizabeth Taylor and so many more film legends were under contract
to MGM. In honor of the 75th anniversary of the movie muscial, the
film has been recently remastered by Warner Home Video, with Dolby
Digital 5.1 audio, and the Academy’s digital presentation will
allow the audience to see and hear these classic film clips as they’ve
never been experienced before. A reunion of MGM stars will be an added
attraction on this night of “More Stars than there are in Heaven!”
