Jones, Otto Preminger's classic film based on Bizet's
opera "Carmen." Starring Dorothy Dandridge in her landmark
Oscar-nominated performance, Carmen Jones is
presented as part of our Monday Nights with Oscar film
series.
With Dorothy Dandridge, Harry Belafonte, Olga James,
Pearl Bailey, Brock Peters and Diahann Carroll. Produced
and directed by Otto Preminger. Book and lyrics by Oscar
Hammerstein II, based on the opera "Carmen" by George
Bizet, Henri Meilhad and Ludov Halevy. Screenplay by
Harry Kleiner. Featuring the voices of Le Vern Hutcherson,
Marilyn Horne and Marvin Hayes. An Otto Preminger Production.
