A special Oscar was given to Gene Kelly for his screen versatility and choreographic contributions to An American in Paris, 1951's best picture winner. The film also marks the screen debut of then 19-year-old Leslie Caron and features a 17-½ minute dance sequence which climaxed the film. MGM. 113 minutes.
