The Science and Technology Council’s activities are centered on three primary areas:
- Motion picture technology projects
With the work of the Council’s Advanced Technology Programs Subcommittee, the Academy has reestablished its role as a primary forum for the discussion of many important technological issues facing the industry.
- The history of motion picture technology
The Council’s Technology History Subcommittee serves the Academy’s cultural mission from a science and technology perspective.
- Public programs and education
The Council’s Public Programs and Education Subcommittee produces innovative public programs to educate both industry professionals and the public-at-large on how technology serves the art form.
