Director of Corporate, Foundation, and Government Relations

Job Summary
The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate, foundation, and government donors and partners. The Director will work with these institutional donors and partners across a wide variety of Academy program, including the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the Oscars, and Academy education programs. The Director reports directly to the Managing Director, Development and works closely with the Chief Marketing Officer.
The position requires a candidate with an entrepreneurial and strategic nature and the ability to work with a wide variety of Academy departments. The successful candidate should have experience with securing donations via corporate sponsorships, and have the ability to write strong foundation and government grant proposals and reports. Experience with the film, entertainment, and marketing communities is helpful.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and monetize Academy programs and initiatives that are appropriate for corporate funding.
- Develop pitch decks for corporate partners
- Working closely with the Managing Director of Development and the Chief Marketing Officer, schedule and attend meetings with corporate partners
- Ensure that corporate partners receive all partnership benefits and media hits
- Research and identify foundation and government funding partners
- Write foundation and government grant proposals, letters of inquiry. and reports.
- Assist in the planning and execution of stewardship and cultivation events, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four year college
- Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, communications, marketing or nonprofit management preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a marketing, business development, strategic initiatives or fundraisings
- Proven ability to build networks, establish relationships, and raise funds
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, Excel, and Raiser’s Edge
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in entertainment, museums, and/or the arts is preferred
